Job Summary:
The Head of Proposals will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid and proposal process for the company’s marine logistics projects. This role requires expertise in proposal development, pricing strategies, contract management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure high-quality and competitive submissions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine logistics, tendering processes, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of high-quality proposals and bids for marine logistics projects.
- Manage the entire proposal lifecycle, from initial qualification to final submission.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and legal, to gather necessary inputs.
- Develop pricing strategies and commercial models to ensure competitive and profitable proposals.
- Review and interpret tender documents, RFPs, and contractual requirements.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Establish and maintain a centralized proposal database and knowledge repository.
- Track and analyze bid performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to enhance the proposal process.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to improve proposal strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marine Logistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in proposal management, bid development, or business development within the marine logistics sector.
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, contract management, and pricing models.
- Proven ability to develop compelling and competitive proposals.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen to develop pricing strategies.
- Proficiency in proposal management software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience working in international marine logistics or shipping companies.
- APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification.
